oasaThe University of Oregon’s Organization Against Sexual Assault is a committee of nine undergraduate and graduate students who work year-round to promote sexual violence prevention and education initiatives through survivor empowerment. On May 12, 2015, OASA hosted an event for local police departments to learn about the neurobiology of trauma from nationally-acclaimed specialist, Dr. Janine D’Anniballe. In addition to releasing a fact sheet about OASA and their event, I created an email pitch detailing the event to potentially interested media outlets. This email pitch was ultimately used by OASA, which thus successfully received attention from The Daily Emerald and Jezebel about the event. The following is an email pitch targeted to local and national bloggers to earn press attention prior to the event.
